Mark your calendars for Thursday, May 30, from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m., at the Harrison County Middle School’s gymnasium.
On that date, time and location, the annual Harrison County Health Fair will take place, a popular event for everyone concerned about their personal health.
Sponsored by Harrison Memorial Hospital, the Harrison County School District, the Harrison County Extention Office, the UK Gill Heart and Vascular Institute Affiliate network, the UK Markey Cancer Center Affiliate Network and the Wedco District health Department, the health fair is free to attend.
Several free tests and screenings will be offered to all who attend, including:
- blood pressure
- blood tests for cholesterol, triglycerides (fasting required), blood sugar, and thyroid-stimulating hormone.
- body fat analysis
- diabetes risk screening
- height and weight
- osteoporosis screening for women over 40
- pulse oximetry
- stroke risk assessment
- vision screening
- cardiac risk assessment
Healthcare professionals will be available to answer health-related questions and there will be nire tgab 20 exhibits and additional screenings available.
The Health Fair is open to everyone and is not exclusive just to residents of Harrison County.
All testing and screening results will be posted on the HMHmyhealth! patient portal, or you may contact the HMH Health Information Department to request a printed version of results.
